What the church (black, white, or otiwsehre) wants to do within their own confines is fine with me. Where we have a problem is when these people push their prejudices onto the public. Don’t like gay civil marriage, then don’t have one, but the church has no right (separation of church & state) to deny gay people the same civil (yes, civil, because these are the rights of the citizenry) rights that they themselves enjoy. Not all citizens are christians or members of any religion, so religion needs to stay in the churches. Let the co-called religious run their own lives and leave the rest of us alone. Let he who is without sin throw the first stone. Judge not lest ye shall be judged. Christians seems to have forgotten those parts of the bible. I am NOT a christian and I do not want to live under a christian dictatorship any more than christians want to live under a muslim religious one.
Oh yeah, really cool idea. Good job and fogseirht to capture the flag using the long exposure. There’s a huge sense of motion throughout the photo as well, likely also due to the ND.

We’re in one of the worst economic situations since the Great Depression, and you all are over here discussing something that Jesus, himself, didn’t even discuss or even tentatively touch on in ANY of his sermons.
Warrior Ben October 18, 2011 Wow, Ed! I have to give you major props for having the atdttuie of looking at your disabilities as challenges. I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through. Your positive atdttuie of looking at using your disabilities to your advantage, rather than against you, is inspiring to not just me, but probably others as well. It also sounds like you have a good way to be able to communicate with business owners with the visual e-mail.As for an actual intro pitch, here is what I use when cold calling on the phone. I don’t have any experience doing a text/e-mail pitch, so hopefully you can take this and customize it to work for your situation. First, I only target businesses who are already running print ads. The reason I do this is two-fold: 1) I know they already have a marketing budget because they are running ads and 2) A QR Code/Mobile Website makes perfect sense to add on to any print ad. To find businesses who are running print ads, just start looking around. I save every Coupon Clipper, RedPlum, and ValPak that comes in the mail. I also look in the daily and weekly newspapers, as well as local magazines in my city. Yellow Pages are another great place to look.Once I have identified the businesses I will be calling, I try to find out who the owner is. I’ll first look on their website and if it isn’t there, I will go to the Secretary of State website for my state and search the business registrations. Almost always I will find the name of the owner there.Now that I have the name of the owner, I will call up the business and ask for the owner by name. I will ask with confidence and almost make it seem like the owner is expecting my call. I’ve found this is a great way to get past any gatekeeper.Once I have the owner on the phone, I always use a variation of this script, Hi John, my name is Ben and I own a local marketing company. I noticed you were running an ad in Coupon Clipper, which is why I called. What my company does is offer a 2D Barcode that is scannable by any cell phone with a camera. Once scanned the user is taken to a mobile web app that gives more information about your business than could otherwise fit on your print ad. The reason I’m calling you specifically today is to set up an appointment to meet with you and show you how the technology works. How does tomorrow at 2pm work for you? I’ve found this script to be very effective in getting appointments. By stating a specific time to meet, it puts the onus on the business owner to either say yes or say no to that specific time, not no to meeting with you in general. I also call QR Codes 2D Barcodes because people have a better understanding of barcodes than QR Codes. Same thing with calling the mobile website a mobile web app . People relate apps to smartphones so it helps people understand better.Anyway, I hope you are able to take something from this script and make it work for your circumstance. Once again I agree with the Word, and you are correct we have becmoe so accepting of everything that we don’t even realize we are condoning sin and I am not only singling out homosexuality, people now have a blinded eye to everything, adultery, fornication, gambling, stealing, etc. Everything goes now, morals and decency is a thing of the past. We all have to wake up and get on one accord with God and stop trying to find comfort and understanding in man’s word but look to the Bible.
I like this photo and this is why. It provides that isrnteet in the foreground and also pulls your eye into the background, like the big rock structure in the back that is on the water horizon line. And since sometimes I like to study details I even like the little puff of water that is spraying near the two wooden posts near the upper right hand side of this photo. Do you see the puff I am talking about?

I especially aapercipte that you have included this story about the black church and homophobia.Without a doubt, traditional black congregations can be dangerous places for black LGBT people. I would argue that many white congregations are just as homophobic, but that is a different argument for a different day.While I very much aapercipte that you spoke with Kenyon Farrow and some other people, I think your story would have been enhanced by a including more about mainline black churches that have committed to full inclusion. For example, I am a member of the Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ in Washington, D.C. where the pastors have, at the cost of loss of a portion of their congregation as well as marginalization and persecution of themselves committed to an providing an inclusive ministry. In fact, they led the clergy in the effort to achieve marriage equality in the District of Columbia. I offer that not as a means of highlighting them but to make the point that there are some black churches that are progressive as it relates to issues of LGBT inclusion. Without a doubt, there are too few and many that are constantly seek cover for their actions. But I think it is a mistake to leave out this part of the story.Again, thank you for your commitment to this issue. I have never subscribed to Black Enterprise in the past, but because of your work on this issue, I plan to subscribe today.

It didn’t initiate any change in me; but reinforced changes I’ve been going through the past week.You see Ben, I’m also a technophobe reliant on my roommate/partner to do all the computerized work necessary for business.Also I might add, having bought all your WSO’s, I’m addicted to the necessity for mobile marketing for local businesses.But I always found obstacles. Namely my disabilities. Well now they’re challenges.Before I couldn’t think of doing live videos. I just never found the fancy graphic kind on YouTube motivating.Well today I found a solution. Doing a visual email video explaining briefly my disability and then casually texting my message looking them straight in the eye.Getting a simple blog setup with a portfolio not claiming I did them, but what I can do for them.Like a visit to my site will reward them with a free e book on how mobile marketing can benefit them .a free QR code and what it means in revolutionary technology for offline marketing in ad spend, simplicity in getting their message off to prospective customers/clients. and amassing unbelievable profits.The bottom line is my disabilities can work for me than against me.
